About Us
Worship and Services
At Grace Bible Church Grandville, worship is a Christ-centered, biblically-based experience that recognizes and acknowledges God’s holiness. Worship is an integral part of our life together, practiced both corporately and individually within the context of the Body of Christ. When you join us for a Sunday morning service, you can expect scripture-based worship, including the corporate singing of hymns and worship songs that are deeply rooted in biblical truths. Our services feature responsive readings from God’s Word and expository preaching that delves deeply into the scriptures.
Our worship services incorporate a blend of traditional hymns and theologically sound contemporary worship songs, ensuring that the music is singable by the entire congregation. We have a choir that performs most Sundays, adding to the richness of our worship experience. While our style of worship is primarily traditional, we also include modern worship songs led by a praise band, creating a blended worship experience. Scripture is woven throughout our service, from public readings to corporate readings and expository preaching, ensuring that God’s Word remains central to our worship.
Doctrine and Beliefs
Our core beliefs and doctrinal statements are based solely on the Holy Scriptures. We believe that God is the creator of all things, including humanity, and that mankind has fallen short of God’s standards. The only way to meet God’s standard is through justification by Jesus Christ’s voluntary sacrifice on the cross. We believe that Jesus draws sinners to Himself and that the role of the Church is to bring glory to God. We regularly celebrate Communion and Baptism, and we believe that Christ will return for all who trust in Him. Our teaching approach emphasizes the divine inspiration of God’s Word, and we practice expository preaching to ensure that His truth is faithfully proclaimed. Salvation comes through grace alone, by faith in Jesus Christ, and we uphold the Bible as God’s holy Word. We believe in the regular participation in Communion and in believer’s baptism.
Community and Fellowship
Grace Bible Church fosters a strong sense of community and fellowship through various means. Our Bible study hour is relatively informal, allowing for significant interaction among participants. Each member or attender is part of a “Care Group,” which is a team of elders, deacons, and deaconesses providing care, prayer, and fellowship. We host occasional all-church fellowship gatherings and activities, such as an annual picnic and game nights, as well as regular ladies’ fellowship gatherings and men’s breakfasts. Small groups are a vital part of our community, offering both teaching and fellowship. Every Sunday morning, there is a time of teaching and fellowship for adults, youth, and children. New members are warmly welcomed by our Hospitality group and regular attenders, and are integrated into Care Groups to ensure they are well-informed and supported within the church community.
Traditions and Practices
Grace Bible Church has several longstanding traditions, particularly in the area of missionary support. For over 90 years, we have been supporting foreign missionaries, providing regular monthly support as well as project-based gifts for specific needs. We host an annual missionary conference to help our congregation understand the work of our missionaries and have a Christmas Card drive to send hundreds of cards to our missionaries each year. Our annual all-church picnic is a cherished tradition, as is our outreach during the July 4th parade in Grandville, where we provide water and open our church building for people to cool off and use the restroom. We celebrate key religious holidays with great intentionality, particularly Easter and Christmas. Holy Week includes a Maundy Thursday meal focused on Christ’s preparation for the cross, a Tenebrae service on Good Friday, and a special service on Easter Sunday. Advent celebrations each December feature a traditional candle ceremony with Scripture readings, focusing on the incarnation of Christ.
Mission and Outreach
Our mission at Grace Bible Church is to faithfully support local and foreign missionaries both financially and through regular interaction, ensuring we know how to pray for and support them in their needs. Our outreach programs include Backpack Buddies, which provides food for children during the school year, and Garments of Praise, which helps clothe local children and occasionally adults. We also engage in an annual July 4th outreach and have a partnership with East Elementary, where we work with the principal and teachers to support families in need and provide occasional meals for the school staff. Our summer programs for kids, such as the Child Evangelism Fellowship 5-Day club, are another important aspect of our outreach. There are always opportunities for members to get involved in service and mission projects, whether it’s providing food for Backpack Buddies, clothes for Garments of Praise, or volunteering at East Elementary events. Our community is actively engaged in providing meals for families in need and transportation for those without the means, ensuring that there are many ways for everyone to contribute and make a difference.
